Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of ceramic material that are placed over the exterior surface of a tooth, and are designed to improve aesthetics and functionality. During your initial visit, the doctor will utilize temporary veneers to protect the teeth while the permanent versions are being crafted in a dental laboratory. When the porcelain veneers are placed, Dr. Blasek will remove a small amount of enamel from the applicable teeth to help ensure proper adhesion and to prepare the teeth for the new veneers.
